They are super yummy, especially if you're anything like me and just loooove dessert that tastes like apple pie with that cinnamon flavor and a flaky and perfectly crispy pastry.

And, this recipe is quick and simple. It only requires very few ingredients.  And you end up with an impressively beautiful and delicately delicious dessert.

It goes without saying that I love apple desserts.

But what's not to love about healthy, naturally sweet and juicy apples wrapped in buttery and crispy pastry?!?
Wholesome and comforting. The aroma of the apples mixed with cinnamon will make your kitchen smell like the holidays.
The best!

For this recipe I'm using store-bought puff pastry, to make things quick and easy.

You certainly can use homemade puff pastry if you have the time. But as much as I love puff pastry desserts, it's one of the few things I don't have the patience for.

To make the pastries, all you need to do is cut the pre-rolled pastry into squares.

I got 12 squares about 3.5 inches each. But the size should be based on the size of your apple.

I used a sheet of parchment paper, folded to the size I needed. And used it to cut the puff pastries into squares. Like this!

Now what you need to do is make an L-shaped cut about 5 mm thick on each corner. Like this...

Spread some preserve in the middle and top with an apple slice.

I used apricot preserve, but any really works (fig, peach, strawberry, blueberry ...). Your choice!

Sprinkle with as little or as much cinnamon as you wish. Fold the four corners up to the middle and place a blueberry or a raspberry if you prefer to secure in place.

Brush the puff pastry with milk or egg wash, and sprinkle with sparkling sugar if you like.

Bake for about 25 minutes at 350F until puffy and perfectly golden.

Ready to try it too?!?
